Visitors to Prehysteria will navigate the exhibition atop a 240-square-foot floor work—unavoidable and designed to be walked on—containing 70 live mice* neatly organized within a Plexi-covered network of uniform modular habitats. Balancing themes of chaos and control, the immersive nature of the exhibition and its sprawling, crawling centerpiece will enable visitors to confront their primordial fears in the context of a carefully controlled and aesthetically compelling environment.

* See note on live animals in FAQ and on page two of press release linked above. A preview of works on view is below, as well as in situ shots and preliminary renderings of the exhibition. See the Dropbox folder linked above to download high-resolution image files. Image reuse must be with credit to Joseph Grazi unless otherwise noted in file name. Note that images with jet-black checkerboard squares depict the original habitat substrate, while the photos with beige bedding were taken after the substrate was substituted on October 31.
