Nathalie Khayat: Unfolded Proximities
26 June - 1 August 2025
Marianne Boesky Gallery
507 West 24th Street

Marianne Boesky Gallery is pleased to present Unfolded Proximities, the debut New York solo exhibition of Lebanese ceramicist Nathalie Khayat (b. 1966, Beirut), who is newly represented by the gallery.

Incorporating extruded, hand-built, and wheel-thrown elements into her work, Khayat's sculptures in the new exhibition bear faint traces of their functional histories: handles with no spouts, bowls and plates flung to their sides and flipped upside down. The sensual, undulating forms—often reminiscent of coral growing from the floor of the sea—showcase Khayat's deep investment in the unique material properties of clay itself, as well as her fascination with and interrogation of the historical functionality of ceramics as a medium.

Unfolded Proximities will be on view alongside Softly Radiant, Half Buried, a group show curated by roster artist Martyn Cross, in Marianne Boesky’s adjacent space at 509 West 24th Street.
